My Inspiration on the Big Picture

Hi! How are you? I hope that you are feeling as refreshed as I am after a summer vacation. It is so good to be back.

The good side of the summer for me, is  to do more activities like long beach walks in the evening , to spend more time with flowers in the garden, to have more chances to meet friends and  to do more work because the days are longer.

I want to tell you an anecdote on the time I was working as an R&D specialist, 9 years ago.

I and my colleagues were doing so much technical and scientific work on our projects in R&D, as you may guess. So many tests, formulation work, validation studies, research and a lot of documentation, of course. Our director was having weekly meetings with us in order to follow up the projects and to see how we were doing. I remember him saying these words to our department, in one of those meetings:

“You should do your best at all your technical and scientific work. This is a must! But also try to see the big picture. There are  a few major things to do this:

  • Follow the guidelines regularly and get the updates.
  • Do not only focus on your work but also interact with other departments and learn what they are doing in the life cycle of the product.
  • Learn more about the regulatory procedure, application fees, pricing.
  • Be curious about how a product is launched. After all, we are all connected and responsible for these products.”  he said.

I was really impressed by his speech and it gave me more inspiration on the route to what I am doing now.

Speaking of the regulatory updates and fees, have you checked the revision in rules on fees on EMA website? There is an explanatory note. You can check it in the link below:

Moreover, do you have an inspiration anecdote? I would be delighted to hear your comments, below.

Have a wonderful week!
